Things To Do In Mansfield

Situated between Nottingham and Sheffield, and within easy reach of the beautiful Peak District, Mansfield has a number of great attractions for family days out.

Being so close to Nottingham, Robin Hood's Wheelgate Park is a must-visit. Just a few minutes down the road from Mansfield itself, you'll find the theme park, which has plenty of things to do for all ages. Set in 30 acres, its eight adventure zones, waterpark, pony rides and falconry centre will keep the whole family entertained all day.

Just up the road from Robin Hood's Wheelgate Park, is Sherwood Pines Forest Park which is packed with adventure. Kids will love Robin Hood's Hideout - a play area with tree houses! And younger scamps will enjoy following A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon Glow Trail around the park. Older children will be keen to test their skills at the bike park, or challenge themselves on the high ropes at Go Ape.

Train enthusiasts will want to visit Sherwood Forest's Railway. Hop aboard a miniature steam train for a scenic journey and the kids (and bigger kids!) will love seeing the engine and learning the function of all the buttons and levers!

A cultural day out can be enjoyed just south of Mansfield at Newstead Abbey. Explore the 12th-century building and its grounds, learn about poet Lord Byron and even try on some of his favourite clothes.

For days out when the weather isn't playing ball, keep the kids entertained at trampoline park i-Jump, or head to Playmania, where there is a special area for under-4s, leaving plenty of room for the bigger ones to take on the skyrider, ball pool, rope bridges and bish bash bags.
