Nestled on the coast of Tor Bay in Devon, close to Torquay and Brixham, the seaside town of Paignton makes for fantastic family days out.
Kids will, of course, want to head straight for the seafront and luckily Paignton Pier will keep them entertained for a while. As well as stunning views across the coast and of the beautiful sandy beach, there's plenty of traditional seaside fun on offer too, including arcade games, trampolines, dodgems and crazy golf.
After a day at the beach, cool off at Splashdown Quaywest Waterpark. As the UK's biggest waterpark, you'll find plenty of things to do, from the rapids to the Submarine Adventure for little ones and the 45ft vertical Devil's Drop - if you dare!
More active fun can be had with Reach Outdoors, which runs a range of activities including rock climbing, kayaking and coasteering.
Paignton is also home to great wildlife attractions too. Paignton Zoo is home to more than 2,000 animals, as well as play areas, special talks and a Jungle Express train. Or you may prefer the smaller (and free!) Occombe Farm, a working farm with nature trails, wartime gardens and even a wartime bunker.
Being in such close proximity to Torquay, you can use the Dartmouth Steam Rail and River Boat for an easy trip from Paignton along the coast. Hop off just a couple of miles down the road for Torquay's Dinosaur World - the kids are guaranteed to love it.
