The Dorset seaside resort of Weymouth boasts sandy beaches, a stunning harbour and was home to the sailing events in the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It also has an array of fun attractions for family days out.
There's the trampolines, minigolf and pedalo hire down at the seafront, while the clues in the Weymouth 4 Kids Treasure Trail will get everyone's grey matter going. It's also a great way to learn more about the area at the start of your visit.
Lodmoor Country Park has an RSPB nature reserve, the six-acre Sealife Centre (which itself includes a minigolf course, go-kart circuit and bumper boats), a model railway, nine-hole pitch and putt - and the stunning Sandworld, which features incredible sand sculptures which are always changing.
You can step back into Dorset history at the Weymouth Museum, where kids can dress like pirates and discover the goods from shipwrecked 17th-century vessels.
There are always things to do over at Nothe Fort, which overlooks the harbour, and be sure to check out the Fort Artillery and their musketry and cannon firing skills every other Sunday.
If you're looking for a place for kids to let their hair down, then Fantasy Island Fun Park is the perfect spot. They have 13 rides, suitable for all ages, and there's no such thing as a minimum height so even the youngest children will find something they can enjoy. The indoor soft play has several exciting slides and there's the Ghost Train for older ones to get their thrills.
