About Trentham Monkey Forest
Your own little monkeys will love Trentham Monkey Forest. The residents here - 140 free-ranging Barbary macaques - are not in cages, they are free to roam the trees amid this 60 acres of Staffordshire woodland.
There's a pathway, less than a mile long, which cuts through the forest where you can see the endangered monkeys live as they would in the wild. Knowledgeable guides dotted around the forest can answer any questions, and there is a number of information boards along the way.
Hourly feeding talks are not to be missed and the entertaining monkeys are well worth photographing as they gallivant around among the trees.
It is a unique chance to see these fascinating animals in a natural environment, as well as teaching youngsters about the conservation efforts that protect the monkeys.
If you buy the Breakfast with the Monkeys experience, you can enter the monkey enclosure before opening hours and help guides feed the star attractions their breakfast.
The Banana Cafe serves warm and cold meals and snacks, plus there's a picnic area which is a perfect place to have lunch when the sun is shining.
There's free onsite parking, with baby-changing facilities, but guide dogs are prohibited in the park - alternative arrangements can be made, and dogs left in the office during your visit.
