About Warwick Castle
If you're looking for entertaining and educational family days out, Warwick Castle is the perfect option.
Situated close to Birmingham, in a beautiful setting on the River Avon, mini knights and princesses will love days out at Warwick Castle, with so many things to do throughout the year.
Explore the castle's fascinating 1,100-year history, learning all about how and why the idea of the castle was brought about by the Saxons, before being developed by William the Conqueror and the de Newburgh family. Discover how Warwick Castle was allowed to fall into disrepair by the Tudors, and was restored by successive Earls of Warwick, before a fire ripped through parts of the building in 1871.
Aside from its roller coaster history, there's plenty more to uncover and enjoy at Warwick Castle.
Gasp at the live stunt shows, be spellbound by storytelling sessions and get lost in the Horrible Histories Maze.
Kids will also love the world's biggest siege machine on display - the mighty trebuchet - and having the castle's gruesome past brought to life through the actors in the Castle Dungeon. Wars of the Roses Live and The Falconer's Quest also provide excellent live displays to enjoy.
Three car parks are on-site, charging between £6-£10 depending on their proximity to the entrance.
There are baby changing facilities just before you enter the female toilets in the Stables Courtyard, the female toilets in the Conservatory and additional facilities are located in the male and female toilets next to the Undercroft restaurant and in the Mill and Engine House.
Accessibility is mixed due to the steep areas and steps within the castle, but the grounds and shows are all fully accessible.
The castle also offers a range of restaurants and a tea house to keep hunger at bay.
Fantastic day out with kiddies, we cant wait to go back again.
