About Twycross Zoo
If you're looking for ideas for great family days out in the Midlands, look no further than Twycross Zoo.
Situated between Leicester and Wolverhampton, and close to Birmingham, Tamworth and Nottingham, it provides the perfect outdoors escape from city-based activities.
With more than 500 animals and nearly 100 different species to see, from small pets to the world's rarest big cat - the Amur leopard - the zoo offers plenty of things to do for entertaining and educational days out.
Kids will love walking with the ring-tailed lemurs (of Madagascar film fame!) in their enclosure, seeing the UK's only bonobo monkeys, feeding the colourful lorikeets, listening to talks and watching Penguin Parade.
The little ones can also burn off some more energy at Twycross Zoo's indoor and outdoor play areas, or get soggy in the Wet and Wild play area.
And after all that walking and running around, you can all give your paws a well-deserved rest in The View restaurant, Vine Cafe or one of the zoo's other eateries. There are also plenty of grassy picnic areas around the zoo for those who wish to bring their own food.
Twycross Zoo offers free, on-site parking, while the zoo's cafes, toilets and most animal viewing areas are wheelchair accessible.
Yes, we have baby changing facilities in our Himalaya centre and at toilets around the site.
Most animal viewing areas are wheelchair accessible.
Cafes are available on site.
