Days out in Warwick

Warwick Castle is probably first on the list of hotspots. And apart from being massive and medieval, it hosts really cool bird of prey displays with eagles and owls. Lord Leycester Hospital is also legendary, and you might recognise the timber-framed Oken’s House buildings from Pride and Prejudice and Dr Who.

But what else is there to see and do here?

Charlecote Park is a 16th century country house where fallow deer graze on the lawns (if you’re quiet). Hatton Country Park has indoor play and sheep racing with stuffed jockeys. And when you’re feeling peckish, The Giggling Squid has the best Thai this side of Bangkok.

Close to Birmingham and Coventry but with a vibe of its own, Warwick is worth checking out.
